Il 53\u00b0 incontro del Gruppo Bilderberg ha proseguito la sua tradizione di riunire leader politici, banchieri centrali, dirigenti d\u2019azienda, accademici e personalit\u00e0 dei media per discutere in via riservata delle questioni globali pi\u00f9 urgenti \u2014 presieduto da \u00c9tienne Davignon, in un\u2019epoca in cui la trasparenza era ancora un concetto lontano, e in cui, secondo quanto riferito, alla stampa locale era stato detto che l\u2019hotel era stato prenotato per un congresso internazionale di medici.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perch\u00e9 questo \u00e8 importante? Rottach-Egern 2005 deve la sua fama al tempismo e a un nome su tutti. Angela Merkel, allora leader dell'opposizione tedesca, trascorse quattro giorni privati sul lago con l'\u00e9lite transatlantica, e sei mesi dopo divenne Cancelliera, una sequenza che rese questo incontro un'esposizione permanente nel dibattito Bilderberg. Intorno a lei sedeva la squadra di riparazione di un'alleanza atlantica fratturata: il segretario generale e il comandante supremo della NATO, due presidenti della Banca Mondiale in transizione, i capi della BCE e della Fed di New York, e l'intero establishment aziendale tedesco, tutti a discutere un'agenda le cui domande, da \u201cDove sta andando l'Europa?\u201d all'Iran, avrebbero ricevuto risposta da elettori ed eventi nel giro di settimane.
